Load notes: chat with your driver

Send notes about a load between the office and the driver, like a chat. Everyone on the load sees them.

Every load has Notes: a chat between the office (owner and associates) and the driver assigned to that load. Use it for dock times, gate codes, delays, lumper or detention details, anything about the load.

Send a note with the load

  • When you add a load: pick a truck with a default driver and type a Note for the driver.
  • When you assign a driver: open the load → Assign driver, type the note, then pick the driver.

The driver gets the note in the New load notification and email, and it's the first message in the load's Notes.

Add notes any time

Open the load → 💬 Notes. Type a message and tap Send. New messages appear within a few seconds while the chat is open.

  • Office notes notify the driver; driver notes notify the owner and associates, by push notification and email. If several notes come in quickly, you get one email (every note still sends a push).
  • A 💬 new badge on the Loads tab and Dashboard shows loads with notes you haven't read.

Who sees them

  • The owner, associates, and the driver currently assigned to the load. Other drivers and other companies never see them.
  • If you reassign a load, the new driver sees the whole conversation and the previous driver no longer can.

Good to know

  • Notes can't be edited or deleted: they're the record of what was said. Double-check before sending.
  • Up to 2,000 characters per note, text only.
  • Notes stay with the load after it's paid; they're deleted only if the load is deleted.
  • The LoadLedger Assistant can read a load's notes for you: "what did dispatch say about load 1042?"

Still stuck? The assistant can answer follow-up questions, and look at your own account when you're signed in.
